Hinson Statement on Cyber Outage

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) released the following statement on today's widespread cyber outage and issuing a warning on the Chinese Communist Party's ongoing efforts to hack critical systems and infrastructure in the U.S. 

"We are still determining the cause of today's widespread cyber outage that impacted many Iowans and Americans. As we learn more, this incident should serve as a wake up call that our foreign adversaries, including the Chinese Communist Party, are actively working to hack into U.S. water systems, electric grids, and other critical infrastructure with the goal of sowing mass chaos and undermining our security. It is critical we work in a bipartisan manner to ensure we aren't caught flat-footed and are ready to deter any future cyber attacks from bad actors across the globe." - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
