As a working mother of two children, I understand the importance of accessible child care and am passionate about pursuing policies to make child care more attainable for Iowa’s families. I frequently hear from Iowans who are struggling to find affordable and accessible care for their children, as well as from businesses whose employees are having difficulty finding childcare so that they can come to work. With the passage of the historic Working Families Tax Cuts, I was able to deliver an improved Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit, enhanced Employer-Provided Child Care Credit, and permanently extend and increase the Child Tax Credit to $2,200, that will rise every year in line with inflation.
