America’s veterans have made tremendous sacrifices to preserve our nation and protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. These brave patriots deserve the highest quality of care and benefits when they return home. I led the Sgt. Ketchum Rural Veterans Mental Health Act which expanded mental health care access to veterans in rural communities which was signed into law. I have also introduced bipartisan legislation to ensure Vietnam veterans can access essential healthcare services and benefits, and bipartisan legislation that eliminates the benefit offset that prevents certain service members from receiving both military retired pay and VA disability compensation in full. I will continue to advocate for reforms at the Department of Veterans Affairs that improve access to benefits and expand care for our nation’s heroes.
