Democrats Again Reject Hinson's Effort to Reopen Schools Safely

February 5, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Today, House Republicans again requested that the House consider Congresswoman Hinson's Reopen Schools Act, but Democrats rejected the motion for the second time this week.

"Getting students back in the classroom safely should be a bipartisan issue. My Democrat colleagues already voted for these funds for schools to take science-based precautions to open safely. It's disappointing that Democrats continue to play partisan games while kids and families are grappling with the mental health toll and other stresses of this long-term lockdown. I will continue to work to ensure that parents have the option to send their kids to learn in person."

Hinson introduced the Reopen Schools Act Tuesday. Watch her floor remarks on this legislation here.
