Hinson Again Encourages Iowans to Get Fully Vaccinated Amid Emergence of Delta Variant

July 26, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA) released the following statement encouraging Iowans to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Hinson received both doses of her vaccine and is continuing to urge all Iowans to get fully vaccinated as the Delta variant spreads.

"As a result of President Trump's Operation Warp Speed, three safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines were developed and distributed in record time. The vaccine protects you, it protects your loved ones, and once you get it, you can and should live your life normally. With the emergence of the Delta variant, I strongly encourage everyone to talk to their doctors and get fully vaccinated so that we can put this pandemic behind us for good." -Congresswoman Ashley Hinson

Background:

To combat vaccine hesitancy in Iowa, Hinson publicly received her vaccine and has continually encouraged Iowans to talk to their doctors and get fully vaccinated.

When recent data showed that fewer Iowans were getting their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Hinson renewed her call for Iowans to trust the vaccine and receive both shots if they had not done so. Hinson has also been outspoken about getting vaccine doses to rural communities. During her weekly press call with Iowa reporters on 7/23, Hinson again called for Iowans to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible.
