Hinson Announces Derecho Relief Funding for Tama

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is awarding $1.6 million to the City of Tama for derecho relief efforts. 

"Derecho recovery has put a serious strain on local resources, and this funding will help the City of Tama with their ongoing recovery efforts. I will continue working to bring disaster relief resources home so that we can fully rebuild from this devastating storm."  -Congresswoman Ashley Hinson

Background:

• Hinson supported legislation, including the FY22 appropriations bill, that allocated resources for the Disaster Relief Fund. This supports recovery efforts to communities impacted by disaster.
• This FY22 appropriations legislation also increased the federal cost share for derecho recovery efforts to 90%, easing the financial burden on localities.
