Hinson Announces IA-01 Congressional Art Competition Winner
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) today announced that Alleesandra Brown of Cedar Rapids is the winner of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. Alleesandra is a rising sophomore at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. Her piece is titled A Wonderland of UnCanny and will hang in the U.S. Capitol alongside other selections from around the country.
"I am so honored to congratulate Alleesandra on winning this year's competition," said Congresswoman Hinson. "This is such an exciting opportunity to showcase Alleesandra's talent. I look forward to seeing her piece hang in the U.S. Capitol all year long."
The annual Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage young artists in high school for their talents. Each spring, students submit original artwork to their representative's office and one winner is chosen to display their piece at the U.S. Capitol for a year alongside other students' works from across the nation.
