Hinson Backs Bill to Make Key Family & Small Business Tax Cuts Permanent
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) co-sponsored the TCJA (Tax Cuts and Jobs Act) Permanency Act to make key tax cuts enacted in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent for individuals and small businesses.
“Thanks to President Biden’s reckless spending, Iowa families and small businesses are facing record inflation and struggling to make ends meet. Making these key tax cuts permanent will help Iowans keep more of their hard-earned paychecks and give our Main Street businesses the certainty they need.” -Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
Background:
The TCJA (Tax Cuts and Jobs Act) Permanency Act makes permanent 23 provisions of the 2017 tax reform law that are set to expire after 2025. These key provisions include permanently lowering tax rates for individuals and filers, preserving the 20% deduction for small businesses, maintaining the higher standard deduction, extending the doubled Child Tax Credit, and keeping the simplified filing process.
