Hinson Continues to Fight Against Push for $15-Dollar Federal Minimum Wage
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) released the following video statement opposing Democrats' continued efforts to pass a federally mandated $15-dollar minimum wage that would hurt Iowa's rural economy.
"House Democrats took another step toward enacting a federally mandated $15-dollar minimum wage and they blocked a provision to exempt small businesses. I’ve heard from countless Iowans about how this would destroy livelihoods in our rural communities and our rural main streets like the one I am on right now.
"Senator Joni Ernst fought hard in the Senate to ensure a $15-dollar minimum wage was taken off the table, but Democrats are relentless in the House in pushing this one-size-fits-all mandate. They want to get this through.
"This would crush our rural economy and I will fight this every step of the way."
