Hinson Delivers Win for Eastern Iowa Airport & Dubuque Regional Airport, Local Economy

March 13, 2021

Washington, D.C. - After learning that Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employee policies were delaying critical infrastructure projects at both the Dubuque Regional Airport and the Eastern Iowa Airport, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson sent a letter to FAA Administrator Dickson and Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg urging them to fix this issue. She has also been working directly with the Administration to resolve the problem specifically for these airports, in addition to advocating for an overall change in policy. Following her request, the FAA has agreed to send engineers to the Eastern Iowa Airport of Cedar Rapids and to Dubuque Regional Airport to help advance projects.

"I am glad the FAA will be sending an engineer to the Eastern Iowa Airport and to the Dubuque Regional Airport to ensure critical infrastructure projects can get underway and local businesses can fulfill the contracts they were depending on to make ends meet during these tough times. I will keep working to bring Iowa common sense to Washington to fix problems like this one and deliver results for our community." - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
