Hinson: Hamas Terrorist Attacks Were Pure Evil
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) released the following statement on the first anniversary of the October 7th terrorist attack against Israel.
“One year ago, the world witnessed pure evil when Hamas ended the ceasefire that was in place and brutally attacked Israel – slaughtering both Israeli and American civilians, and taking others hostage. The Harris-Biden doctrine of appeasement has emboldened Iran and its terrorist proxies, freeing up funding for their acts of terrorism and enabling the regime in Tehran to significantly advance its nuclear capacity without consequence. As Israel continues to fend off terrorist attacks and anti-Semitism continues to rise, I will continue standing with Israel and the Jewish community around the world. It is past time we return to peace through strength and bring every single hostage home." - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
Background:
Following the October 7th attacks, Rep. Hinson has supported legislation to condemn Hamas attacks on Israel, ensure Israel has robust military support, and freeze funds to Iran.
- Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act: Provides military assistance to Israel, replenishes U.S. stockpiles to preserve our military readiness, and ensures the safe return of American citizens impacted by the terrorist attacks.
- Israel Security Assistance Support Act: Reaffirms Israel's right to self-defense and enforces that the Biden Administration delivers defense articles and services and obligates funds appropriated for assistance to Israel.
- H.Res. 409: Condemns the acts of terrorism committed by Hamas against the people of the State of Israel.
- No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act: Immediately freezes the $6 billion of Iranian funds released as part of the Biden Administration’s 2023 hostage deal.
