Hinson Secures Key $1.5 Million Air Service Grant for Dubuque to Help Restore Daily Commercial Air Service

Dubuque, Iowa - Congresswoman Hinson (IA-02) announced that following her advocacy, the City of Dubuque will receive a $1.5 million Small Community Air Service Development Program grant. In May of 2023, Hinson wrote a letter of support to Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, advocating for this grant funding. The grant is funded by FY22 appropriations legislation that Hinson supported. 

“Ever since daily commercial air service was pulled from Dubuque last September, I have worked diligently with local stakeholders and leaders to restore daily commercial air service and protect Dubuque's economic vitality, including by successfully advocating for this Small Community Air Service Development Program grant. This grant will help Dubuque restore daily carrier service, reinvigorating the local economy at the heart of America's supply chain along the Mississippi river.
