Hinson Secures over $18 million for Key Infrastructure and Economic Development Projects in Iowa
Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) secured over $18.7 million dollars of key investments for Iowa’s Second Congressional District in last week's bipartisan government funding package for Fiscal Year 2026. This brings Rep. Hinson’s total federal funds secured for Iowa’s Second District to over $35 million dollars for FY26.

Rep. Hinson secured the following investments:
- $3,000,000 for the North Iowa Corridor Workforce Housing Initiative: This project will address a critical shortage of workforce housing in Cerro Gordo County by supporting site acquisition, relocation, rehabilitation, and new construction of affordable housing units. (CERRO GORDO COUNTY)
- $3,716,000 for the Swine Career and Technical Education Barn: This project will replace the outdated Swine Center with a modern facility that supports career and technical education in swine husbandry, an in-demand sector critical to Iowa’s workforce and economy. (LINN COUNTY)
- $10,000,000 for the Eastern Iowa Airport Aircraft Deicing Facility: This project will support the construction of a centralized deicing pad and containment facility for the Eastern Iowa Airport, a critical transportation hub for Iowans. (LINN COUNTY)
- $2,000,000 for the City of Ely Urban Renewal Initiative: This project will support Phase 2 of Ely’s Old Town District redevelopment, providing critical stormwater, sewer, and road improvements to revitalize the rural downtown, attract businesses, and support economic growth. (LINN COUNTY)
