Hinson Statement on Government Funding

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) released the following statement on government funding. 

“I voted for today's legislation to keep the government open as House Republicans continue our work on single-subject appropriations bills that cut spending and defund President Biden's wasteful and out of touch agenda.

"U.S. troops have been attacked by Iran-backed militant groups in the Middle East over 50 times in the past month and over 240,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the Southern Border in October. If the government shut down, our brave troops and Border Patrol wouldn't have the tools to protect us and wouldn't get paid. That is a nonstarter. 

"In the coming months, I will work around the clock to advance legislation that funds the government in a conservative, fiscally responsible manner, protects our national security and troops, and delivers on Iowans' priorities." - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
