Hinson Statement on Washington Chaos and Dysfunction

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) released the below statement on her efforts to pass legislation that cuts wasteful spending while averting a government shutdown. 

“The chaos and dysfunction in DC was on full display this week. Sadly, Iowans have come to expect Congress to end up on the brink of a government shutdown every single year. It is unacceptable and taxpayers deserve better.

“As a Member of the House Appropriations Committee, I have worked to slash wasteful spending and advance conservative priorities, crafting legislation that reduces the EPA by 39%, defunds Biden’s ridiculous diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at federal agencies, prevents Biden from supersizing the IRS, builds the wall, and secures the border.
