Hinson Tours Cedar Rapids Air Traffic Control Tower

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) released the following statement after touring the Cedar Rapids Air Traffic Control Tower at the Eastern Iowa Airport this morning. The congresswoman also had the chance to see the construction progress for the airport’s new deicing facility, a site she helped secure community project funding for to ensure anti-icing protection for aircraft.
"My heart is heavy following the recent tragic plane crashes, and Matt and my prayers are with the victims, their loved ones, and our courageous first responders. Today, I visited the Cedar Rapids Air Traffic Control Tower to hear directly from controllers about their day-to-day operations and their challenges in keeping our skies safe.
“I am so grateful for their service as countless lives depend on their work, and Congress must ensure they have the resources and support needed to prevent future tragedies. I will continue working with aviation experts and my colleagues in the House and Senate to advance policies that ensure safety for our nation’s pilots, passengers, and communities.” - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
