Hinson Visits Eastern Iowa Health Center to Discuss COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution

March 30, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) today visited the Eastern Iowa Health Center in Cedar Rapids to learn more about the patient-centered health services they provide. Hinson met with both patients and staff and discussed the center's plans to expand its COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

Last month, Hinson led a bipartisan letter to the Biden Administration requesting it prioritize and include Iowa's federally qualified community health centers (FQHCs) in its direct vaccination partnership program. Hinson successfully secured vaccine doses for the Eastern Iowa Health Center and other FQHCs in Iowa.

“It was great visiting the Eastern Iowa Health Center today to learn more about the essential patient-centered care it provides to our community, and the center's efforts to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic. I am so glad that it will soon receive COVID-19 vaccine doses from the federal government to help ensure that any Iowan who wants a vaccination is able to get one. I will continue advocating for FQHCs in our district at the federal level. "-Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
