Hinson's Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act Advances Through Key House Subcommittee
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Hinson (IA-02) released the following statement on the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee passing her bipartisan Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act. This legislation amends Title V, the Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant of the Social Security Act, to clarify that stillbirth prevention activities and research are an allowable use of funds. This clarification will support stillbirth prevention activities, saving the lives of mothers and babies.
“Stillbirth is a preventable tragedy that has devastated too many families. I am working to end this silent crisis and ensure no mom or dad has to endure the pain of a stillbirth. We are one step closer to getting this vital pro-family legislation across the finish line and I will never give up the fight to save more moms and babies." - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
