"I think Senator Scott was spot on. I listened to the President's speech and I listened to Senator Scott's response. I think they are laying out two very different visions for America. One is hope and one is filled with the heavy hand of government. That is what we heard President Biden deliver in his speech tonight. 

"I came into the House Chamber tonight hoping the President would lay out some visions for reducing and reining in our excessive spending, securing our border because we do have a crisis at the border, and supporting the needs of rural America. Instead, all I got was more fluff and a lot of free stuff and a lot of hyperbole to pander to a base. I think that is the wrong message to be sending to the American people right now.

"I never expected to agree with President Biden on everything, but I also expected him to come to the floor with some reasonable policies for us to come together. That missed the mark for me tonight."
