Hinson held a meaningful discussion with Dr. Satya Vaddadi and several others who came to the United States legally to discuss potential improvements to the legal immigration system.

Hinson toured the Surgery Center of Cedar Rapids to learn more about how they overcame the challenges posed by COVID-19 as well as how they are serving patients post-pandemic and setting new standards in the industry.

Hinson toured the recently expanded Willis Dady Shelter. She received an update on those experiencing homelessness in Cedar Rapids and learned more about the shelter's work helping homeless veterans in the area.

Hinson toured the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) headquarters. HACAP touches the lives of so many in need in the community. She learned more about their Head Start program and how they are working to address the rising cost of child care.

|
Hinson visited Eastern Iowa Airport and received an update on ongoing construction projects. They discussed the need for continued infrastructure investments for airports serving rural areas.

|
|
Hinson ended the day at Dan & Debbie's Creamery in Ely.
