VIDEO: Hinson Speaks on Impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) released the following video statement in support of the effort to impeach Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

"Today, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. 
 
This is a solemn day, but a necessary step to protect Americans from the growing crisis at our Southern Border. 
 
Secretary Mayorkas has willfully and systematically undermined immigration laws and lied to Congress – and the American people – every step of the way. 
 
He is complicit in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans poisoned by fentanyl. He bears responsibility for suspected terrorists now on American soil. He is to blame for the violence against U.S. border patrol agents and American citizens at the hands of illegal immigrants. 
 
Secretary Mayorkas has deliberately refused to follow U.S. laws and breached the public’s trust – with grave consequences. His offenses have jeopardized our national security and put Americans at risk. 
 
I applaud the Homeland Security Committee for conducting a thorough and fair investigation. It is our Constitutional duty to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. Thank you."
