The "Sgt. Ketchum Rural Veterans' Mental Health Act" was introduced earlier this week by Iowa lawmakers and is being discussed Thursday on Capitol Hill.

WATERLOO -- Hundreds gathered behind a fence at the Waterloo Regional Airport on Wednesday afternoon, holding up signs to welcome home about 100 Iowa Army National Guard soldiers before hugging and kissing them minutes later after they were released.
The soldiers from Charlie Company, part of the 1st Battalion of the 133rd Infantry Regiment -- the "Ironman Battalion," departed the plane and lined up on the tarmac to whistles and cheers for a socially distanced crowd at the homecoming ceremony.
The Iowa Congresswoman visited the Southern Border this week with other Republican members from the Republican Study Committee (RSC) to tour the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) facilities and hear from the law enforcement officers and border patrol that are being affected by the crisis happening at the southern border.
Republican Study Committee members demanded Democratic leadership to visit the southern border and see the consequences of reversing Trump-era immigration policies firsthand.
Iowa Rep. Ashley Hinson told reporters, “Speaker Pelosi needs to come here too. Because, just yesterday, she said things are moving in the right direction. ... Well, law enforcement officials are telling us otherwise."
