On Friday, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) held a medal ceremony in honor of Iowa veteran and Sumner-native, Corporal Dickie Johnson. During the ceremony, Congresswoman Hinson presented Corporal Johnson with the National Defense Service Medal he earned during his service in the Korean War.

Congresswoman Hinson (IA-02) introduced the bicameral Allowing Greater Access to Safe and Effective Contraception Act to expand over-the-counter access to oral contraceptives for adult women. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) has introduced companion legislation in the Senate.

Today, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) introduced the resolution to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge and to recognize the successful efforts of local conservationists.
