Washington, D.C.  The Office of Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) is accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional App Challenge. The challenge is specifically designed to promote engagement and innovation in computer science and is open to all middle and high school students in Iowa’s Second Congressional District.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02), alongside Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (D-NC-12) and Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), and Cory Booker (D-NJ), introduced a bipartisan, bicameral resolution recognizing September 19th as National Stillbirth Prevention and Awareness Day.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) and Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) reintroduced the Helping with Equal Access to Leave and Investing in Needs for Grieving Mothers and Fathers Act, or HEALING Mothers and Fathers Act, to amend the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to include the unexpected and devastating loss of an unborn child as a qualifying medical condition for FMLA leave. The bill would also establish a tax credit for a woman who suffers the loss of a child in the womb.

Washington, D.C. – This week Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) and Congressman Tom Barrett (MI-07) introduced the Forum Accountability and Integrity in Roadway (FAIR) Trucking Act. Joined by Congressman Brandon Gill (TX-26) and endorsed by the American Trucking Association and the Iowa Motor Truck Association, this legislation restores fairness and balance to litigation—protecting our truckers against forum shopping and ensuring cases of national scope are heard in federal courts.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02), Congressman Brad Knott (R-NC-13), Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01), Congressman Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ-08), and Congressman Mike Flood (R-NE-01) introduced the Protect and Respect ICE Act, which will double criminal penalties for assaulting, resisting, or impeding an ICE officer or employee. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) led the Senate version of this legislation.
