Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) introduced the bicameral Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act with Rep. Zach Nunn (R-IA-03). Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) introduced the Senate version of the bill with support from Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA). The legislation will prohibit state and local governments from interfering with the production or manufacture of agricultural products in other states.

Congresswomen Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) and her colleagues on the Select Committee on Competition with the Chinese Communist Party sent a letter to Secretary Antony Blinken calling on the Administration not to renew the Agreement Between the United States and the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation in Science and Technology (STA) that will expire on August 27, 2023. The lawmakers cite concern that the Chinese Communist Party has previously leveraged the STA to advance its military objectives and will continue to do so.

By empowering farmers with voluntary conservation tools, the Driftless Area Landscape Conservation Initiative (DALCI) Act preserves the Driftless Area, reduces flood risk, improves water quality, and expands recreation and tourism activities.
